When you care for multiple people there are different rules for Carer Payment
Income from employment
If you or your partner get income from employment you need to tell us. This is so we can pay you the right amount.
Overdrawn bank account
You can get help to access your money if you have an overdrawn bank account.
Cancel Nominee Arrangement form (SS532)
Use this form to tell us that you, as an authorised person or organisation, want to cancel a nominee arrangement.
Carer Payment and/or Carer Allowance - Care Needs Assessment (for a child under 16 years) form (SA394)
Use this form to identify care needs as part of the assessment of eligibility for Carer Payment, Carer Allowance or both.
Income from outside Australia
Income you get from outside Australia can count in your income test.
Funeral bonds and prepaid funerals
Funeral costs you pay for in advance normally don’t count in your assets test for payments from us. There are some exceptions.
How much Carer Supplement you can get
Carer Supplement is an annual payment of $600 for each eligible payment you get. You’ll get this on top of your regular payment.
Breaks from caring when you get Carer Payment
You can still get Carer Payment if you take a break from providing care or the person getting care is in hospital.
