Time’s running out to claim Family Tax Benefit as a lump sum

Published: 16 June 2025

You need to submit your Family Tax Benefit (FTB) lump sum claim, for the 2023-24 financial year, by 30 June 2025.

If you didn’t claim FTB during the financial year, you need to do it now. If you don’t, you may miss out on payments.

You’ll need to confirm your 2023-24 family income before we can finalise your claim. Either lodge a tax return with the Australian Taxation Office or tell us you don’t need to as part of your lump sum claim.

If you were renting, we’ll check if you can get Rent Assistance as part of your lump sum claim. To get this, you need to lodge a claim for FTB the current financial year as well.
