Sometimes the people you help also need help checking their employment income reports

If you work with people who get Centrelink payments, you can help them check their employment income reports, so they get paid the right amount.

Sometimes employment income can get reported more than once. This can also happen if a person has a partner and they both report income at the same time.

If they don’t review and correct the amount, their income will look higher than it is, and they will get a smaller Centrelink payment.

To prevent this, the people you help, and their partners can do the following:

  • report one at a time, rather than together
  • remove any duplicate income, if it shows more than once.
