Sometimes employment income can get reported more than once. This can also happen if a person has a partner and they both report income at the same time.
If they don’t review and correct the amount, their income will look higher than it is, and they will get a smaller Centrelink payment.
To prevent this, the people you help, and their partners can do the following:
- report one at a time, rather than together
- remove any duplicate income, if it shows more than once.
