Retirement villages
Using the amount you paid when you entered the retirement village, we assess if you’re either a:
- homeowner
- non-homeowner.
If you’re assessed as a non-homeowner, you may get Rent Assistance. We base the assistance on your ongoing fees in the retirement village. If we assess you as a homeowner, you likely won’t be eligible for Rent Assistance.

Lifestyle villages
You’ll usually be eligible for Rent Assistance if you live in a lifestyle village. These are assessed differently to a retirement village.
