If you or the other parent live in one of these countries we can help you manage your overseas maintenance.
We will either assist:
- the parent if we can
- the authority that manages child support in that country.
Setting up maintenance for you in other countries can be complicated and take a long time. What we can do depends on:
- our arrangement with the country
- their laws and processes

Excluded jurisdictions
These are countries that can’t accept Australian assessments.
We can’t make a child support assessment if the other parent lives in one of these countries. You may be able to get an Australian court order which we can send to the other country.
Countries that are excluded jurisdictions
- Brunei Darussalam
- Cook Islands
- Israel
- Niue
- Papua New Guinea
- Samoa
- Yukon, in Canada.
Non-reciprocating jurisdictions
These are any countries that aren’t on the 2 lists above.
We can’t make a child support assessment. We also can’t send an Australian court order to the other country. Call one of our Child Support international lines to talk about your options.
