Pay for access to FOI requests using Government EasyPay

You can pay for charges relating to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request online using the government EasyPay service.

Before you start

Before using this service, you should consider what is the most appropriate and cost-effective payment option for you. If it’s not using the Government EasyPay service, send us an email to freedomofinformation@servicesaustralia.gov.au to ask us for information about another way to make the payment.

Government EasyPay service

The Government EasyPay service is provided by the Reserve Bank of Australia via their payment gateway service provider, ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions.

Cards accepted

The Government EasyPay service accepts the following cards:

  • Mastercard credit card
  • Mastercard debit card
  • Visa credit card
  • Visa debit card.

Payment value

The minimum payment to use this service is $10.00.

We’ll process your FOI request in accordance with legislative timeframes once we’ve received your payment.

Once you have made a payment using EasyPay, email freedomofinformation@servicesaustralia.gov.au to advise us of your payment. Please include your payment reference number and the payment receipt number.

Card payment fee

A card payment fee does not apply to transactions made using the Government EasyPay service.

Payment receipt

When you make a payment using the Government EasyPay service you’ll get a receipt. It will identify the payment amount. Your credit or debit card statement will display Services-Australia-FOI as the details of your payment using Government EasyPay.

Government EasyPay service processing times

The Government EasyPay service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It will take approximately 24 to 48 hours for us to credit your payment to your account. This could be longer on weekends and applicable public holidays. We’ll process your payment on the next business day if you make a payment either:

  • after 9:30 pm Sydney Australia Eastern Standard Time
  • on weekends
  • on applicable public holidays.

Unavailability of the Government EasyPay service

There may be times when the Government EasyPay service isn’t available. This is usually due to unforeseen technical issues or maintenance. Please contact us at freedomofinformation@servicesaustralia.gov.au if you need to make a payment during this period.

Refund policy

Please email freedomofinformation@servicesaustralia.gov.au if you believe you’ve made an incorrect payment or have made an overpayment, and we should refund you.

Privacy and your personal information

ANZ Worldline Payment Solutions may request your email address when using the Government EasyPay service in order to send you a copy of your payment receipt.

The Reserve Bank does not usually disclose your email address to persons or organisations outside the Reserve Bank.

The Reserve Bank is unlikely to disclose your email address to overseas recipients.

Individuals are entitled under Australian privacy law in certain circumstances to access, and seek correction of, personal information about them held by the Reserve Bank.

Storing information

The protection and security of information that you provide using the Government EasyPay service is very important and strict industry standards are applied at all times.

Payment information that you enter when using this site is processed and stored in accordance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). This Standard has been developed by the PCI Security Standards Council which is an open global forum responsible for the ongoing development, enhancement, storage, dissemination and implementation of security standards for account data protection.

The information that you provide is protected through the use of Secured Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption. You will notice that the URL in your browser is "HTTPS" instead of "HTTP". This is because this security feature has been invoked. Your browser may also display a lock symbol on the bottom task bar line to indicate that a secure website is being used.

The storage of payment information on the host server used by this website is protected from external networks by the deployment of firewalls and proxy servers.
