Pause of requirements
During this period, no payment suspensions or financial penalties will apply if you don’t meet your requirements.
You must still report any income you and your partner get every 2 weeks, even if it’s $0. This is so we can pay you the right amount.
You can stay up to date with information about pauses of mutual obligation or participation requirements by continuing to check this page for updates.

If you’re unable to meet your requirements for any reason, you should speak to your provider.
There’s a pause of requirements in the following locations.
There’s no national pause of requirements at this time.
There’s no pause of requirements for ACT at this time.
There’s no pause of requirements for NSW at this time.
There’s no pause of requirements for NT at this time.
You can check to see:
- if your area is affected by an event in QLD
- the start and end date of any mutual obligation or participation requirements pause in your area.
This applies if you’re registered with Community Development Program.
The pause will also apply if you’re under 35, get DSP and have participation requirements.
