Parental Leave Pay changes for families expecting a child from 1 July

Families with a child born or adopted from 1 July 2026 will get more Parental Leave Pay days.

From 1 July 2026, your family can get 130 days of Parental Leave Pay. This is an increase from the current 120 days.

If you claim before July, your Parental Leave Pay balance will be 120 days.

Once you give us proof your child was born or entered your care from 1 July 2026, we’ll add an extra 10 days to your balance.

There are also changes to how many days will be reserved for the other parent.
