From July 2026, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) will start paying superannuation contributions on Parental Leave Pay.
If you received Parental Leave Pay in 2025-26 for a child born or adopted from 1 July 2025, the ATO will pay a 12% superannuation contribution on this payment.
They’ll pay this directly to your superannuation fund from July 2026.
