Nationwide AusAlert mobile phone test – 27 July 2026

Published: 29 June 2026

AusAlert will send a nationwide test alert to compatible mobile devices at 2 pm AEST on Monday 27 July 2026.

AusAlert is a new national emergency warning system starting soon. It sends alerts to mobile phones in at‑risk areas.

You don’t need to do anything for the test.

Your device will vibrate, play a siren‑like sound for about 10 seconds and display a test message.

During the test, you can turn your device off or use aeroplane mode, if you think the alert might make you or a family member feel unsafe.

In an emergency, alerts will tell you what’s happening and what to do.
