We’re making changes to our services so they’re accessible and inclusive for all Australians.

At Services Australia, our aim is to ensure every Australian can access the support they need, when they need it, in a way that works for them.

This edition of Changes at Services Australia shows three ways we’re putting our commitment into action.

Our Auslan On-Demand service makes it simpler for deaf or hard of hearing customers to access same-day services, connecting them with professional interpreters via video call within 30 minutes.

From November 2025, we’re rolling out changes to Centrepay to help customers on income support better manage their essential payments more effectively. These improvements will deliver a safer and more helpful service, putting financial control back in people’s hands.

As we mark 50 years of our Indigenous Service Officer (ISO) program, we celebrate a legacy of trust-building and cultural understanding. Our ISOs ensure customers are not only heard and supported in accessing our systems, but also have a voice in shaping the services and policies that impact them.

What unites these initiatives isn’t just progress, it’s our recognition that one size doesn’t fit all. Different communities and customers have different needs, and we’re committed to tailoring our services to meet their needs.
