If you haven’t received the child support you’re entitled, or less than expected, let us know as soon as possible by calling us on the Child Support enquiry line.
We can look into what happened and help you understand your options.
We’ll review your case and explain what action we can take to collect any outstanding amounts. We only take legal action if other collection methods don’t work. The sooner you tell us, the sooner we can investigate and provide support.
Private Collect arrangements
We don’t transfer or check Private Collect payments.
If you have a private arrangement and aren’t receiving the child support you’re entitled to, you can contact the other parent about the missed payments or ask us to start collecting it for you.
Don’t contact the other parent if it is unsafe or may cause conflict. Call the Child Support enquiry line so we can discuss safer payment options and support.
If you don’t receive the amount of child support you expected, this might also impact your Family Tax Benefit (FTB). For more information see how child support affects FTB Part A payment rates.
