Aged care financial hardship assistance is available for care recipients when they’re having trouble paying aged care fees or accommodation payments due to circumstances beyond their control.
If we grant a care recipient’s claim for assistance, we’ll pay some or all of their costs. How much we’ll pay depends on their situation.
We’ll pay this directly to the provider on the care recipient’s behalf. If the care recipient is required to pay some of the fees, they will continue to pay these to their care provider.
Care recipients are encouraged to check their eligibility before lodging a claim.
