Fares Allowance can help when you’re travelling to start or finish study or going home between semesters.
To get Fares Allowance you need to:
- get Youth Allowance, Austudy or Pensioner Education Supplement
- be living away from home to study
- study online and have a need to travel to meet a compulsory residential course requirement.
If you’re eligible, we can reimburse your travel costs or pre-book your travel. You need to contact us at least 7 days before your trip.
Make sure you keep the travel receipts and itinerary to support your claim.
