Scammers want personal information such as myGov sign in details.
They do this by sending people emails, text or social media messages with links or attachments to go to another website.
These scams might tell people to:
- claim a refund, payment or settlement
- sign in to read a new message
- update their personal information
- upload their identity documents.
Don’t click on links or attachments.
If people aren’t sure if something is genuine, they should check their myGov inbox by signing into their myGov account.
Always do this by entering my.gov.au in a website browser or by using the official myGov app.
