If someone you know with dementia can no longer manage their Medicare, you can act for them if you’re:
- a power of attorney
- appointed by a court to act for them
- an authorised representative.
As someone acting for them, you can:
- ask us questions
- make Medicare decisions
- update their contact and bank details
- make Medicare claims on their behalf.
You can manage your Medicare acting arrangements in person or by phone, but not online.
