The cost of Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) medicines is changing

From 1 January 2026, the cost of PBS listed medicines will reduce to $25 for general patients.

You may pay less for your prescriptions at your local pharmacy.

You don’t need to do anything to get the lower price. It’ll automatically apply when you fill your prescription.

If you have a concession card, the current PBS co-payment of $7.70 will stay the same.
