- oral and maxillofacial surgeons
- dentists
- paediatric dentists
- prosthodontists.

Category 7 of the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) lists the cleft and craniofacial items.

Patient eligibility
To be eligible for treatment, your patient needs to be all of the following:
- enrolled in Medicare
- diagnosed with an eligible cleft and craniofacial condition by a health professional.
Some Medicare items need a referral. For example, oral and maxillofacial service items need a referral from an orthodontist.
