Claim Assistance for Isolated Children for the 2026 school year

The Assistance for Isolated Children Scheme (AIC) helps families get allowances for students who can’t attend a local state school due to geographical isolation, disability or special needs.

You can get AIC allowances if your child meets certain living, age, disability, health, study or isolation requirements.

The AIC helps with:

  • Basic Boarding Allowance
  • Additional Boarding Allowance
  • Second Home Allowance
  • Distance Education Allowance
  • Pensioner Education Supplement.

You can make a claim for this school year any time before 1 March 2027.
