Child Care Subsidy changes to help eligible families

Published: 5 January 2026

From 5 January 2026, Child Care Subsidy (CCS) eligible families can get at least 72 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight or 3 days per week.

These changes are known as the 3 Day Guarantee.

If you and your partner each do over 48 hours of recognised participation per fortnight, or have an exemption, your family can get 100 hours of subsidised child care each fortnight.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children can get 100 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight.

You still need to pay a gap fee based on your CCS percentage.
