If we reduce your payment
If we reduce your Centrelink payment, you may need to change your Centrepay deductions. We’ll continue to pay your deductions unless you make a change. This may use all your Centrelink payment.
Tell us if you need to update or suspend your Centrepay deductions.
If your payment does not cover your deductions, we’ll make a part payment where possible.
You may also need to contact each business you have a deduction with to arrange an alternative payment method.
If we suspend your payment
Sometimes we can suspend your Centrelink payment for more than 14 days. During this suspension period, we won’t pay your deduction.
You may need to contact each business you have a Centrepay deduction with to arrange an alternative payment method.
If we cancel your payment
If we cancel your Centrelink payment for more than 14 days, we’ll cancel your Centrepay deductions.
You must contact each business you have a deduction with to arrange an alternative payment method.
If you change to another payment
If you change to another Centrelink payment, there may be a gap between when your current payment stops and when your new payment starts.
When you get your new Centrelink payment, tell us if you want to keep your Centrepay deductions. You should call us on your regular payment line or go to a service centre.
If there’s a gap between your Centrelink payments, you’ll need to set up your Centrepay deductions again.
If you did miss a Centrepay deduction, you can make extra payments to the Centrepay business.
