Change of circumstances

We need to know about changes that could stop you from having a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card.

You need to tell us if any of the following happens:

  • you change or correct your name
  • your personal circumstances change
  • you change your address
  • your income changes
  • you return to work
  • you don’t need to lodge a tax return
  • there are changes in care for your dependent children
  • you’re leaving Australia.

How and when to tell us

You need to tell us if your circumstances change within 14 days.

You can’t tell us about any of these changes online:

  • income changes
  • returning to work
  • that you don’t need to lodge a tax return.

If you don’t tell us about changes in your life, that could affect your eligibility for a card, we could charge you with fraud.
