Cancel your acting arrangement when you no longer need help

Published: 1 April 2026

If you have an acting arrangement and no longer need help with Centrelink, Medicare or Child Support, you should cancel it.

You or the person acting for you can cancel the arrangement at any time. If you feel you no longer need help, or you think the person acting for you isn’t looking out for your best interests, it’s best to cancel.

You have the right to feel safe. While the acting arrangement is in place, the person acting for you can access your personal information.

How to cancel the arrangement depends on the type of help you get. Find out how to cancel your Centrelink, Medicare or Child Support acting arrangement.
