They do this through emails, text or social media messages.
Scammers want personal information such as your myGov sign in details.  
These scams might tell you to: 
- claim a refund, payment or settlement  
- sign in to read a new message
- update your personal information 
- upload your identity documents.
Don’t click on links or attachments. 
If you’re not sure if something is genuine, check your myGov inbox by signing into your myGov account.  
Always do this by entering my.gov.au in a website browser or by using the official myGov app.
