PBS Safety Net cards
Give your customers PBS Safety Net cards to help them access cheaper PBS medicines.
You can give your customer a PBS Safety Net card when they reach the PBS Safety Net threshold. There is a PBS Safety Net concession card (CN card) or a PBS Safety Net entitlement card (SN card), depending on their circumstances.
PBS Safety Net concession card
Give a general customer the CN card when they reach the PBS Safety Net threshold. Their PBS medicines will be less expensive for the rest of the calendar year.
PBS Safety Net entitlement card
Give a concession card holder the SN card when they reach the PBS Safety Net entitlement threshold. Their PBS medicines will be free for the rest of the calendar year. They may have to pay more money if they choose an expensive brand of medicine.
Supplementary or replacement cards
You may issue a supplementary PBS Safety Net card to a customer’s spouse, de facto partner or dependent child at the same time you issue an original card.
Your customers can request a supplementary or a replacement PBS Safety Net card if their card is lost or stolen. They need to complete and submit the PBS Safety Net amendment, replacement or supplementary card application form.
