How to record and update immunisation details

How to submit immunisation details on the AIR site using HPOS.

It’s now mandatory to report COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations to the AIR. You should report COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations to the AIR within 24 hours of the vaccines and no more than 10 business days after the date of service.

You must be a recognised vaccination provider to submit immunisation information to the AIR.

If you’re a medical practitioner, midwife or nurse practitioner with a Medicare provider number, you’re automatically a recognised vaccination provider.

If you’re a medical practice, pharmacy or organisation, you need to register as a vaccination provider and set up access to the AIR.

Most practice management software batch uploads data to the AIR. Because of this there may be delays in updating the AIR when you record details using your software.
