Which payments are eligible for transfer to Age Pension
If you get an eligible payment, we’ll invite you to apply to transfer to Age Pension.
Eligible payments are:
- Carer Payment
- Disability Support Pension
- JobSeeker Payment
- Parenting Payment
- Partner Allowance
- Widow Allowance.
It’s important to know that JobSeeker Payment will stop once you reach Age Pension age. This is because you’re no longer eligible to get JobSeeker Payment. You can apply to transfer to Age Pension to see if you’re eligible for it instead.
If you don’t currently get an eligible payment, you need to complete a full Age Pension claim. You can do this:
Use our claim guide to find the steps to claim Age Pension.
Widow Allowance and Partner Allowance end on 1 January 2022
You’ll need to transfer to Age Pension on or before this date, to continue getting a payment from us.
If you’re under Age Pension age, we’ll write to you 13 weeks before you reach Age Pension age. Our invitation will tell you what you need to do.
If you’re over Age Pension age, you need to submit a claim for Age Pension as soon as possible.
If you don’t meet the Age Pension residence rules, call us on the Older Australians line to discuss your transfer to Age Pension.
