Who can get it
You can get financial assistance for coronavirus if you get an eligible income support payment.
You’ll automatically get the supplement if you’re getting 1 of the following payments:
- JobSeeker Payment
- Partner Allowance
- Widow Allowance
- Youth Allowance
- ABSTUDY Living Allowance
- Parenting Payment
- Farm Household Allowance
- Special Benefit.
We’ll pay it until 31 December 2020 at a rate of $250.
The extension from 1 January to 31 March 2021 at a rate of $150 is subject to the passage of legislation.
We’ll pay the supplement as part of your regular payment. This applies as long as you get $1 of an eligible income support payment.
From 1 April 2021, your payment will change to the normal payment rate for your situation.
The Coronavirus Supplement is a fortnightly payment on top of your eligible income support payment.
