Getting help with your SuccessFactors account

You can find useful information about how to create and update your account, submit and manage an online application and get support.

We have information to help you use our eRecruitment system, SuccessFactors.

Create your account and sign in

Our agency uses the SuccessFactors eRecruitment system. If you haven’t applied with us since September 2025, you’ll need to create an account on the SuccessFactors website.

Only one account may be registered per user. Don’t create multiple accounts using different email addresses. We recommend using a personal email address that you can access at any time.

Once you’ve created an account, you can sign in to the SuccessFactors website using your registered email and password.

Resetting your password

If you can’t remember your password, use the Forgot your password? link on the sign in screen and follow the instructions. If your email address is registered to an account, you’ll receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you don’t get this email within 10 minutes, check your junk folder. You can also add recruitment.management@servicesaustralia.gov.au to your safe sender list.

Account display issues

Depending on your browser settings, you may have trouble viewing information in your candidate profile. If this happens, you should try all the following:

  • clearing your browser history or cache
  • closing and reopening your browser
  • using a different browser to sign in.

Update your account details

Update your profile information

If you want to add or update your candidate profile details, sign in to your account and select the My Profile tab to make the required changes.

You should keep your CV (also known as a resume) up to date. You can upload a new CV at any time.

When adding Education details, you’ll be asked for the name of the university. If you didn’t get your qualification from a university, use the name of the school, TAFE or other place of education where you got the qualification.

Remember to select Save before exiting the screen or your changes won’t be captured.

Update your email address

If you need to update the email address you use to sign in or receive emails to, please email us at recruitment.management@servicesaustralia.gov.au and include both:

  • the email address you currently use
  • the new email address you want to use.

If you change your email address yourself, you won’t change the contact email address for applications already submitted or the email address you use to sign in.

Submit and manage your application

Make sure to review the How to apply section in your job pack.

While completing your application, you’ll need to answer all questions marked with a red asterisk. Some questions have additional instructions on how to answer. Make sure to read each question carefully before entering or selecting your response.

Remember to use the Save option at the bottom of the form while completing your application. If your session expires because of inactivity or internet connectivity, any unsaved answers will be lost.

Formatting application responses

We recommend writing your application responses in a Word document, before copy pasting into the answer field. This will help you check the spelling, grammar and character count.

Character limits apply to each free-text answer field. The question will tell you the maximum number of characters your answer can have. Characters include all the following:

  • letters
  • numbers
  • punctuation marks
  • spaces.

Editing a submitted application

You can generally edit your application before the job closes. However, if a specific application can’t be edited after submission, we’ll tell you in the job pack.

Once a job has closed, you can’t make any changes to your submitted application.

To edit your application, go to the Job Management tab on your profile. In the Actions column, select the drop-down menu arrow next to the relevant application and then View/Edit Application. Your application will load and you can update your responses or your CV as needed. Make sure to select Update at the bottom of the page to resubmit your edited application.

Withdrawing a submitted application

You should only withdraw your application if you’re no longer interested in the role.

To withdraw your application, go to the Job Management tab on your profile. In the Actions column, select the drop-down menu arrow next to the relevant application and then Withdraw Application.

To help prevent accidental withdrawals, a pop-up message will ask you to confirm the action.

If you change your mind, you may resubmit your application while the job advertisement remains open.

Viewing the status of your application

You can sign in to the SuccessFactors website to check the progress of submitted applications by selecting the Job Management tab and then Jobs Applied. You can see the status of your application and details about the next step in the process.
