We assess risks to child safety that may arise in our work and do our best to control and manage these. We train our staff to identify and address child safety concerns.
All our staff must treat children appropriately at all times. They’re required to address or report any concerns raised by children.
Our commitment
We are committed to the safety of children and vulnerable people. We all have a responsibility to protect everyone we have contact with while delivering our services. As a child safe organisation we ensure child safety is embedded through our policy, business processes, resources and training.
We are dedicated to ensuring no child is at risk through any interactions they have with the agency. These are:
- at a service centre with their parents or other trusted adult
- online interactions as a customer
- employees of the agency
- visitors in the company of agency staff
- by telephone.
We undertake an annual child safety risk assessment to identify any risks to a child through interactions they have with the agency. Our child safe commitment is:
- we have zero tolerance for child abuse and take any claims of contact and safety concerns seriously
- we apply policies, procedures and the law when responding to any claims
- any child who is in contact with our staff has the right to feel safe and protected
- everyone is responsible to make sure a child feels safe with us
- we are committed to train and educate staff on child abuse risks
- if we have direct unsupervised contact with a child as part of our role, we must have the appropriate checks in place.
Being recognised as a Child Safe Organisation means all staff in the agency are conscious of the needs of children and their safety at all times.
