
Prevenar 20 and Vaxneuvance will become standard vaccines within the AIR.
These vaccines will:
- count towards a child’s vaccination status
- be considered equivalent as other Pneumococcal vaccines within the AIR.
The recommended dose for Pneumococcal given at 6 months of age is now available to:
- all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children regardless of location
- children with specified medical risk conditions.
There are also changes to due and overdue rules for Pneumococcal for children born on or after 1 September 2023.
