You can report medical contraindications for influenza vaccines to the AIR

Published: 8 May 2024

From 14 April 2024, eligible providers can report medical contraindications for influenza vaccines to the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR).

You can now record medical contraindications to influenza (flu) vaccines as Influenza vaccines through the AIR site or your software. You no longer have to report individual flu vaccine brands.

This applies to the following providers:

  • General practitioners
  • General practice registrars on an approved 3GA training placement
  • Paediatricians
  • Public health physicians
  • Infectious diseases physicians
  • Clinical immunologists.

The AIR042A report now includes influenza vaccination information so you can identify individuals eligible for either influenza or COVID-19 vaccines.
