Support to return to work

You may need some extra support to find or keep a job after being out of the workforce for some time. The Mid-Career Checkpoint Program may be able to help you return to work or upgrade skills to be job ready. It’s currently in its pilot stage and available to parents or carers living in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. You may be able to access up to $3,000 to support accredited training.

It’s available to parents or carers who have either:

  • been out of the workforce for at least 6 months due to caring responsibilities
  • recently returned to paid work.

You may also be eligible if you’re working in certain industries and are at risk of losing your job due to COVID-19.

Find out if you’re eligible for the Mid-Career Checkpoint Program on the Department of Education, Skills and Employment’s website.
