The Traditional Credit Union is now offering Cashless Debit Cards

8 December 2021

Some people in the Northern Territory, can choose to use a Cashless Debit Card (CDC) with either the Traditional Credit Union (TCU) or Indue Ltd.

From 6 December 2021, customers in the Northern Territory can choose to use a Cashless Debit Card (CDC) with the Traditional Credit Union (TCU) or Indue Ltd.

You may choose to move to the CDC if you live in the Northern Territory and are either:

  • currently on Income Management
  • getting an income support payment.

The total amount of money you get won’t change.

The percentage of money going onto the CDC will stay the same as under Income Management.

The full amount of any lump sum payments and arrears will also go on the card.

Key benefits of the CDC are:

  • approved merchants with over one million EFTPOS terminals nationally
  • flexibility and control of payment methods using EFTPOS or Visa
  • online approved merchant sites
  • online banking functions using BPAY and direct debits
  • contactless payment points.

There are some things they can’t use their CDC for:

  • to take cash out
  • buy alcohol
  • gambling
  • certain gift cards.

You can move to the CDC by calling us on the Cashless Debit Card hotline.

Next steps

If you want to know more about the changes:

If a customer didn’t get a permanent card or they lost it, they should contact their card issuer for a new one.
