Additional absences
From 3 March to 30 April 2022, you can get unlimited allowable absences if your child attends a child care service in Western Australia. These absences will be automatically applied.
This means you won’t have to use your 52 allowable absences for the 2021-22 financial year during this time.
Absence days before your child begins care or after their last day of care
We generally won’t pay CCS for any absences before your child begins care or after the last day your child physically attends care. There are exceptions to support Western Australian families during this time.
From 3 March to 30 April 2022, you can get CCS for any absence days before your child’s first attendance or after their last attendance if their enrolment begins or ends during this time.

Gap fee waiving
Child care services in Western Australia may waive gap fees in certain circumstances.
It’s up to your child care service to decide if they waive the gap fee or not.
You should talk to your child care service if you think this applies to you.
