Collecting data
You have to supply prescription data for items priced below the patient co-payment to us.
Prescription data gives us information about how medicines are used in the community. It’s a valuable tool for:
- health policy planning
- monitoring risk management protocols
- collecting information on the adverse effects of medicines
- monitoring the quality use of medicines in the community.
The data is collected through online claiming for PBS through pharmacy dispensing software.
PBS systems assess under co-payment data and only a limited set of reject reason codes will be returned for approved suppliers to follow up.
