PBS Safety Net thresholds are now lower for customers
3 January 2020
If your customers spend a lot on PBS medicines, they’ll reach the threshold sooner.
PBS Safety Net thresholds are the amount your customers need to spend before they can get their medicines at a cheaper price.
A lower threshold means customers can access PBS medicines at a reduced price sooner.
From 1 January, the 2020 PBS Safety Net thresholds are:
- $316.80 for concession card holders
- $1,486.80 for general customers.
This change can save them up to around $80 per year in out‑of‑pocket costs.
We’ve delivered your 2020 PBS Safety Net kits.
It helps us process your claim faster and identify possible claim rejections early.
