Continue to code social leave during the COVID-19 emergency period
26 June 2020
Social leave during this time won’t count towards your residents’ leave balance.
Emergency leave is available to aged care residents from 1 April to 30 September 2020. During this time, your residents’ claimable social leave (non-hospital) won’t count towards their social leave balance.
What you need to do
Continue to enter claimable social leave for your residents during the emergency period. Our systems will calculate the leave during this time as emergency leave. You don’t need to do anything different.
We’ll continue to pay you the residential care subsidies while a resident is on emergency leave.
Residents will still be able to take 52 days social leave per year, outside of the declared emergency period.
