Income Compliance Program refunds resources for community groups
Resources to help you share information about debt repayment refunds.
In July 2020, we started reducing debts raised under the Income Compliance Program to zero and refunding any repayments made to these debts. Only debts that were raised after 1 July 2015, using averaged Australian Taxation Office (ATO) income information, are eligible to be refunded or reduced to zero.
We know community groups play a big role in helping people do business with us. This is why we’ve created a range of resources to help you help your community members. These explain who may be eligible for a refund of their debt repayments and what they need to do.
You can download our Income Compliance Program refunds eKit. Use it to explain the refunding process for eligible debt repayments.
By using the eKit, you agree to reproduce content in the exact form provided by us. Please don’t change the designs in any way.
We also have translated Income compliance refund products available for community members who speak another language.
In the eKit
You’ll find these useful resources:
- Information addressing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about refunds we’re making and what people need to do.
- Infographic explaining who will get a refund.
- Infographic explaining the difference between debts raised on family assistance payments and debts raised on other income support payments.
If they want to watch a video
If your community members would prefer to watch a video, check out our video explaining how the refunds process works. This explains the refund process and what people need to do.
