How much you can get

A one-off grant of $1,500 to $100,000 depending on your business’ annual GST turnover in the 2019 calendar year.

Eligible businesses with a turnover of between $50,000 and $99,999 will get $1,500.

The grant amount goes up by $2,500 for each $100,000 increase in annual turnover or part thereof.

For example, an eligible business with an annual turnover of between:

  • $100,000 and $199,999 will get $4,000
  • $200,000 and $299,999 will get $6,500
  • $500,000 and $599,999 will get $14,000.

The maximum amount is $100,000.

This grant is taxable. This means you must include it in your business’
20-21 income tax return. There are no GST consequences for you if you get the grant.

If you get Family Assistance

If you include the grant amount in your individual tax return you’ll also need to include it in your family income estimate as taxable income. You need to do this if you or your partner get:

If you have a Child Support assessment

If you include the grant amount in your individual tax return it will form part of your adjusted taxable income for Child Support. You must include it in any income estimate you submit for the 2020-21 financial year.
