AUSkey for Centrelink Business Online Services

A free and secure digital credential to identify you and your business when using government online services.

AUSkeys to access Centrelink Business Online Services (CBOS) will stop working from March 2020. If you use certain online services you may need to move to Business Hub.

What is AUSkey

AUSkey is a secure login to identify you when you use certain government online services on behalf of a business.

There are 2 types of AUSkey credentials:

  1. Administrator – view, register and manage all AUSkeys for your business.
  2. Standard – authenticate for our online services, or view and update your own AUSkey details.

How to register

You can register for AUSkey at the Australian Business Register website. They’ll tell you everything you need to know.

Depending on your role, you may need to register for both an Administrator and Standard AUSkey credential.

How to use your AUSkey

You can link your AUSkey with Centrelink Business Online Services. To make the link you must have all of these:

  • an AUSkey
  • a business online account with us.

To link your AUSkey:

  1. Go to the Centrelink Business Online Logon page.
  2. Select Link your AUSkey.
  3. Enter your user ID and password, and select continue - It will redirect you to the Government Authentication Service.
  4. Select the AUSkey User ID you just linked from the menu, and enter your AUSkey password.
  5. When the service accepts your ID and password, it will send you to the Digital Credential Successfully Linked page.
  6. Select Logon to take you to our Business Online Services page.

The Government Authentication Service checks your AUSkey every time you access Centrelink Business Online Services.
