New Centrelink medical certificate

8 September 2022

A clearer version of the medical certificate is now live.

In response to feedback from medical practitioners and patients, we’ve redesigned the Centrelink Medical Certificate.

The new certificate clarifies:

  • details you need to give us for a medical certificate
  • medical exemptions are based on temporary incapacity, regardless of whether a medical condition is temporary or permanent
  • details we need for easier identification of patients with a serious illness or a terminal condition.

The change aims to ensure clearer direction for practitioners and better outcomes for your patients.
