myGov help - Access your myGov account if you can’t sign in with an SMS code

How to access your myGov account using your Digital Identity if you can’t sign in with a one-time use code sent by SMS.

You can use a myGovID Digital Identity to access your myGov account if you can’t sign in with the code sent by SMS to your mobile phone. You’ll need a strong level myGovID Digital Identity.

If you already have a myGovID Digital Identity, but you don’t have a strong identity level you’ll need to increase the strength level to access your myGov account.

To achieve a strong Digital Identity, you:

  • may need to enter more identity document details
  • will need to scan your face for verification.

Read more about identity strength on the myGovID website.

If you can’t access your myGov account with an SMS code and don’t want to use Digital Identity, you’ll need to create a new myGov account and link your services again. The myGov helpdesk can release your email address for you to use when you create the new account.
