Mutual obligation and participation requirements paused for parts of NSW

Mutual obligation and participation requirements pause has been extended for people in flood affected areas of New South Wales (NSW).

Your mutual obligation or participation requirements are paused from 5 July until 31 August 2022 inclusive if you live in the following Local Government Areas (LGAs):

  • Blacktown
  • Blue Mountains
  • Camden
  • Canterbury Bankstown
  • Campbelltown
  • Central Coast
  • Cessnock
  • Fairfield
  • Georges River
  • Hawkesbury
  • Hornsby
  • Kiama
  • Lithgow City
  • Liverpool
  • Northern Beaches
  • Penrith
  • Shellharbour
  • Shoalhaven
  • Sutherland Shire
  • The Hills Shire
  • Wingecarribee
  • Wollongdilly
  • Wollongong.

Requirements are paused from 8 July until 31 August 2022 inclusive if you live in the following LGAs:

  • Bayside
  • Dungong
  • Lake Macquarie
  • Maitland
  • Singleton
  • Upper Lachlan.

Requirements are paused from 11 July until 31 August 2022 inclusive if you live in the following LGAs:

  • Cumberland
  • Mid-Coast
  • Muswellbrook
  • Nambucca Valley
  • Newcastle
  • Port Stephens
  • Randwick
  • Warren.

During this period, no payment suspensions or financial penalties will apply if you don’t meet your mutual obligation or participation requirements.

You must still report any income you and your partner get every 2 weeks, even if it’s $0. This is so we can pay you the right amount.
