The Standardised Whole Patient Equivalent (SWPE) value is the basis for most Practice Incentives Program (PIP) and Workforce Incentives Program (WIP) - Practice Stream payments.
Your practice SWPE value won't include all eligible services if you don’t tell us about all GPs and NPs working there.
If your practice uses a Payee Provider arrangement, you must register the Payee Provider at the practice as a current practice GP.
We may deny a request to review a SWPE value if you haven’t kept your practice GPs and NPs up to date.
You can check your current GPs and NPs:
- in HPOS
- on your quarterly payment advice
- on your PIP Confirmation Statement
- on your WIP - Practice Stream Quarterly Confirmation Statement.
You can add new GPs and NPs to the practice profile by either:
- using HPOS
- submitting a Practice Incentives individual general practitioner, nurse practitioner or health professional details form (IP003).
You need to do this within 7 days of the change, or at least 7 days before the next point in time date.
