Complete a Section 23A statement
Complete a Section 23A Statement if you don’t have a valid Notice of past benefits.
You may not have received any relevant Medicare benefits since the date on your expired Notice of past benefits. In this case you can complete a Section 23A statement.
A Medicare Compensation Recovery Section 23A statement form declares that:
- you haven’t had a Notice of past benefits issued in the previous past 6 months
- you haven’t received any further eligible benefits
- you haven’t received further eligible benefits relating to the claim since the expired Notice of past benefits.
When we get this statement, we’ll send you a new Notice of charge. This states the amount you need to repay to us.
First the compensation payer will pay us the amount on the Notice of charge. Then they’ll pay the rest of the compensation money to you. This can take up to 3 months.
