Understanding aged care costs
If you’ve started your journey with My Aged Care, we can tell you how much you’ll pay towards your aged care costs.
We can tell you how much you’ll pay towards a government funded Home Care Package or a place in an aged care home. To do this, we use your income and asset information. We call these your financial details.
The financial details we need depends on your circumstances and the type of care you’re applying for. In some circumstances, we may already have the financial details we need.
Visit the My Aged Care website to start your aged care journey.
You can also find out how much you’ll pay by using the Fee Estimator on the My Aged Care website. This is only a guide. We tell you the amount you pay when you apply for an aged care calculation of your cost of care.
Our Financial Information Service can inform you about financial options when accessing aged care. No matter how you fund your retirement, we have information and resources to help you understand aged care costs.
