Financial help

We may be able to help you financially even if you don’t already get a payment from us.

If you don't already get a payment from us, use our guide to check what other payments you can get.

If you already get a payment from us, there’s financial help for people affected by coronavirus. This includes the Coronavirus Supplement and the Economic Support Payment.

If you pay or receive child support and your situation has changed, tell us. We can then update your details. Read more about child support and coronavirus.

Support services

You don’t need to go to a service centre. You can access our services in different ways including using our self service options.

If you're feeling unwell, or need to isolate yourself at home, please don't visit our service centres.

If you’re affected by family and domestic violence, we can help. We provide information, support and referrals.

Our Financial Information Service can talk to you about your financial options.

Social work services

You can contact a social worker by calling us on the same number you use to call Centrelink and asking to speak with one. If you need an interpreter, let us know and we’ll arrange one for you. You can also call our Multilingual Phone Service.

Mobile Service Centres

We’ve suspended our Mobile Service Centre visits to protect the health of our staff and customers.

For information about coronavirus, visit the Department of Health website or call the Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080.

You can also download the Department of Health’s COVIDSafe app. The app speeds up contacting people exposed to coronavirus. It helps health officials support and protect you, your friends and family. The app is now available from the Apple App Store and Google Play.

The Australian Taxation Office has COVID-19 information on their website about:

  • JobKeeper Payment
  • early access to superannuation
  • financial relief for small business and employers.

The Department of Education, Skills and Employment has coronavirus (COVID-19) information for New Enterprise Initiative Scheme (NEIS) participants.
