Once your claim is finalised
When your claim reaches judgment or settlement, you’ll need to repay the amount on your Notice of charge.
Your Notice of charge states the total you need to repay us. Your final Notice of past benefits becomes your Notice of charge.
A Notice of past benefits is valid for 6 months. If judgment or settlement occurs while it’s valid, it becomes your Notice of charge.
If you don’t have a valid notice of past benefits on judgment or settlement date, you need a new one. We’ll send you a new Medicare history statement and Declaration. You need to complete this and send it back to us.
