How much you can get
The amount of Partner Allowance you can get depends on your circumstances.
This includes all of the following:
- your income and assets
- other payments you or your partner get
- your living arrangements and personal circumstances
- your tax exemptions.
You need to report your income to us every fortnight if it changes.
Living or travelling overseas can also affect your payment.
The highest rate you can get is $565.40 a fortnight.
We update Partner Allowance rates on 20 March and 20 September each year.
If you disagree with a decision we make, you can appeal.
You may have to pay income tax on Partner Allowance.
If you got the Coronavirus Supplement, you need to declare it as income in your tax return for the 2020–21 financial year.
The Coronavirus Supplement won’t be shown separately on your Centrelink payment summary.
Your total Centrelink payment rate was increased if you were paid the Coronavirus Supplement.
